Light. Touch. Matters.
The product is the interface
In 2013, Pilotfish joined forces with a consortium of designers and material researchers to develop a completely new generation of smart materials that can sense touch and respond with luminescence. The Light.Touch.Matters project was a unique collaboration with 17 partners from 9 EU countries, funded by European Commission’s Seventh Framework Program for Research and Technological Development (FP7).
Following a three-year period and the implementation of a methodology specifically made to suit the project, Pilotfish reached its final design: an intuitive set of headphones.
The headphones allow the user to pause, play and shuffle music as well as accept or deny calls through instinctive hand and head gestures. Using light, the headphones also offer a new form of expression for end users and give companies an attractive way to promote their brand.
