Prayer time clocks – Reinventing tradition

Pilotfish was invited to a closed design competition with 7 participants, to create prayer time clocks that celebrate the Muslim religious tradition and at the same time embrace the contemporary trends in the Islamic societies.

Pilotfish did embed the latest technology in a modern but timeless shape, that does not appear like a typical consumer device. The shapes are inspired by traditional instruments from the
source or Islamic culture, that was created over 1000 years ago.

This was the vision that clearly convinced the jury. Pilotfish won the assignment to work out two prayer clocks; one for home use and one to be used in a mosque.

The product is timeless and made for longevity – it was realised without a plastic housing or a TV-like LCD screen – what would be typical for short living consumer devices.
