The SpiroSphere and iSpiro app are trustworthy and easy-to-use healthcare devices and apps to empower patients to obtain reliable data on their lung function. SpiroSphere provides a less intimidating procedure for spirometry patients, and for doctors, and it enhances the overall experience of spirometry testing through its intuitive interface and streamlined workflows.

We employed a user-centered development process - from interviews to testing intermediary solutions with end users -to ensure that the lung function testing device SpiroSphere would improve the experience for all parties involved. The system highlights only essential information and reduces complexity by using the latest sensor technologies and interaction possibilities of multi-touch displays. It also eliminates the need for a desktop computer, as it automatically and wirelessly syncs the data from the tests.

We also created a patient-facing app to combine with the device. The app reminds patients to test their health condition in time. The app displays forced vital categories data coming from an external sensor on the SpiroSphere and provides feedback about the quality of the data on the patients.
