Developing a compact, wearable thermal imaging device posed significant design challenges in integrating electronics, durability, and usability. ThermalGlass is a cutting-edge wearable solution designed as an augmented reality eyeglass with thermal vision, integrating advanced thermal imaging capabilities into a sleek AR form factor. Developed for Holoindustry in collaboration with Cloud Network Technology (subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group) and PQ Design Group, this revolutionary product allows users to identify temperature variations in their environment and see through smoke while enabling them to focus on other tasks with their hands. Pilotfish contributed to AI-based thermal glasses development through innovation management, user research, and mechanical engineering (including product architecture). By orchestrating usability, manufacturability, and aesthetics, we delivered a user-centric, manufacturable solution. Our design expertise and engineering innovation helped to overcome integration challenges, culminating in products unveiled both at CES 2024 & CES 2025, poised to redefine wearable thermal imaging technology.

Integrating advanced electronics into a wearable, hands-free device required balancing compactness, robustness, and user comfort. Pilotfish's comprehensive approach included innovation management, user research, industrial design refinement and mechanical engineering. We balanced usability, manufacturability, and aesthetics, ensuring a durable, manufacturable design which houses complex electronics around a lightweight frame. Multilateral collaboration with a spectrum of different stakeholders enabled the project team to develop AR-based thermal vision goggles in an intuitive, wearable form.

From concept to production - we provide product design and development services to help teams bring products to market faster, without compromising quality or compliance.
